Content Writing
I started out in the sciences, earning master’s degrees in public health (epidemiology) and nutrition before pivoting to writing. My science background fuels my passion for helping mission-driven healthcare organizations educate and inspire readers to take care of themselves. Here’s a sampling of some of my recent digital marketing clients and projects.
Do you need an experienced digital writer who can translate science into relatable, readable content? Contact me and let’s talk.
Aha Media Group
A leader in content strategy and digital healthcare marketing, Aha Media Group services healthcare giants like The American Nurses Association, Johns Hopkins, Cleveland Clinic and Stanford Health. As lead writer for the Henry Ford LiveWell blog for 8+ years, I have unscrambled information about eggs, explained why you should breathe through your nose, and even got to the bottom of how often you should poop.
Cedars-Sinai
Recognized for pioneering research and innovative treatments, Cedars-Sinai consistently pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in healthcare—a distinction that requires a lot of copy. As part of the medical center’s marketing team, I write blog posts, patient profiles, physician profiles and feature stories about Cedars-Sinai’s groundbreaking science, including an award-winning piece about inflammation.
HealthCentral
One of the foremost health authorities on the web, HealthCentral combines medically-vetted information with personal stories and patient advice. The company tasked me with writing articles on topics including continuous glucose monitors, alopecia, and bipolar disorder, as well as producing conference coverage for the company’s physician-facing site, MedCentral.
Let’s Win
Let’s Win breaks down barriers between patients, doctors and researchers to help people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer access the latest information and best treatment options. Since 2016, I have written dozens of stories relevant to people with pancreatic cancer, including posts on clinical trials, nutritional support, and family history and early detection. I also work closely with the team to produce the nonprofit’s fundraising materials and annual report.
The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation
Since its inception in 1982, The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation has served as a lifeline for people living with spinal cord injury—and today, the field is brimming with promise. I’ve had the distinct pleasure to cover inspirational stories of people living with SCI, scientists committed to improving the lives of people with SCI, and groundbreaking research (funded by Reeve).
University of California Irvine
University of California Irvine (UCI) is the only academic health system in Orange County, and it’s home to renowned healthcare providers and leading-edge medical facilities. Each quarter, I write UCI Magazine’s “Health Page,” highlighting the institution’s latest medical breakthroughs and pioneering research.
